I was a big fan (up till now actually) of Mama Carrie cookies. Dulu-dulu masa raya, masa I umur 8-9 tahun, bila dah nak raya, my cousins, akan balik from KL. And they'll bring the kuih raya from KL. Which handmade punya. Bukan beli kat kedai. Sedap teramat sangat! So, bila petang tu depa sampai rumah Ayah Wa (my eldest uncle), I'll go to their house and ate the kuih raya. Few days before raya! Hahaha. Kadang-kadang macam, nak makan banyakkkk, tapi it's still not raya, so, tunggu raya je la makan banyak-banyak.

Bila dah raya, I'll go to Ayah Wa's house, and my first stop will be the kuih raya table. Duit raya my cousins hands in, memang I tak pandang dah. I pandang kuih raya tu je. And Mama Carrie is top on the list!

Years ago, people get excited to learn and bake the Mama Carrie cookies. Tapi, none of these can beat this Mama Carrie, bought by my cousins. Some of them yang trying to do, it's either the ising jadi keras sangat, or biskut tu jadi keras terlampau. It's not Mama Carrie dah. Dah macam makan tepung keras.

Bila Cik Esah dah kerja, she'll bring home all the raya cookies. Also from the same baker. Satu kotak is not enough. I pernah tidur belakang kereta GTI Pokmat, tidur dengan all the cookies, siap pegang okay, takut biskut tu hancur. From KL to Besut. My siblings memang bawa kereta laju. Yet still safe. Stillll, kuih raya itu I pegang, pegang kuat-kuat.

This year around, I've got one jar of Mama Carrie. From the greatest baker tu. Since we're off to a holiday, biskut tu terperap dalam bag pack. Which at 4am, I've opened them and ate 5 of them. Masa tu tengah tunggu flight, and am so freaking tired holding the kecik, so, biskut Mama Carrie to the rescue!

Bila sampai to the holiday destination, one by one down to cold and sorts. Kuih raya tu terbiar. Tak ada siapa nak pandang. Bila dah balik semulaa.. Am still with the kepala toing-toing and the husband with the batuk tak habis-habis, do you know who's finished my precious kuih raya? Do you?

Yeahhhh! Muka huduh. Korang semua cakap cute la apo la kan. Haa.. Tengok muka-kedekut-tak-nak-share-cookies

Bila I merajuk, lagi suka budak bertuah ni.

Lepas tu rasa macam terlekat celah gigi sikit, mulalah cari I. Lepas tu terus back to the cookies business.

Serdak pun ala-ala je ada!

I think I know why the kecik loves them so much. Maybe because the baker included some susu tepung baby inside them. Tu yang rasa sedap tu. Eh. Sungguh. If you're a baker, you should know that by adding a spoon or two, the formula milk, cookies tu terus jadi Walllaaaa!!!

Plus, bila I makan the Mama Carrie, I can already taste them.

Cakap pasal kuih raya, kadang-kadang I.. Eiiiii.. Can I say menyampah? Ye laa.. Dah alang-alang buat kuih raya tu, setahun sekali, cuba la buat elok sikittt. Ini dah rasa pun ala-ala, nak bagi pula tu orang makan. Baik makan sendiri. Tak payah nak pass pass kat orang lain. Boleh? Membazir tepung gula butter je haa..

Mungkin dekat kedai kita nampak cantik, tapi bila rasa.. Alahaiiii... The easiest kuih raya pun rasa macam.. Haihhh.. Budak bertuah tu buat lagi sedap kot?
