The Egg-cellent week

09:07:00

Back in Gerik, we had the fully English as mother tongue. Not the teaching (except English la kan), but everything other than teach and learn.
We used English a lot.

> We have SEEDS
> Our college theme in English and we sang it weekly and during roll call time <-- really miss this one! Haha
> Even the announcement had to make in English
> And lots lots lots more

It was starting with the SEEDS programme. Adeh.. makcik lupa dah meaning dia. Leen, habaq mai sket.

If am not mistake, Langkawi also sang the college song in English. Just like us. But we were much more special as we're not the Bitara and we're only for the Lower Secondary students.

By the way, back in Gerik, as to make English is much much more fun, our teachers had come to a very interesting plan, called, Egg-cellent Week (Excellent Week).

Everyone in Gerik were given an egg each of them, and had to :

> very take care of it
> had to bring it everywhere even to the toilet!
> the most important thing, dont lost it or BREAK it!

Haha.. Really hard one! And dont you ever think to boiled the egg. Kantoi nanti! If am not mistake, one of my friends boiled his egg and get busted. Hehehe

Every teacher in Gerik really give cooperate in doing this Egg-cellent Week. Even ustaz will asked anyone that he saw :

> Haa, where's your egg?

And if you dont had them with you, siap la kena denda. It's very funny seeing others kena ketuk ketampi. Especially if students pass the staff room, and if there were any teachers there, they will asked where is everyone's egg. And that's why, staff room is not as famous as usual during the Egg-cellent Week.

And how the school smells? Hahaha

Bau telur!!! Kesian makcik cleaner. Tabah je la.

And at the end of the week, we had Egg contest. Everyone <-- who still got their eggs, had to decorate the egg as beautiful and nice as you can. Like Miss Egg World contest.
Even our principal at that time, Tuan Haji Shafie join the contest and win it!
He decorated his egg exactly like his face. How sweet was that memory.

And am really excited at the time am writing this. Only Allah know how much I miss my old times..

And the Egg-cellent week idea was coming from our English teachers department. Head by my dearest Sir Amin. Oh, how I miss those all days. I still remember, there's one day, when we're doing activities in class <-- Sir Amin class specially for English mentor. So I was one of them. Tapi skang grammar tunggang terbalik. Hehehe. Lantak la, tapi korang baca gak. He..
During those classes, we, the mentors, will trying to find activity which will ended up with fun and get our mentee get excited to learn English. So, there's one day, when Sir Amin came to class, wearing a stripe white and red shirt and he said :

> I feel like a chicken today!

Hahaha..
With his voice and his hands, it's looks so funny!

Seriously, back in Gerik, we learn English from songs. Yeah, really! There's no usual grammar practice like back in Tengku Mahmud (1). Our teachers in Gerik, really open my mind that English is not bad. They make it more interesting.
Well, maybe because they graduated from overseas and their mind is much more open. No offence ye students Malaysia. It just like, hm.., really, so different with the local teachers.
We had this two lovely teachers :

> Miss Bai (Siti Zubaidah)
> Miss Win (Darwina)

These two teachers who make English is much more fun. Miss Bai is the chubby one. And Miss Win, did I mention that she really looks like a Barbie doll?
Yeah.. Really. So cantik. Both of them hair free and maybe that's why other teachers looks a bit jealous. Haha.. Both of Miss Bai and Miss Win were best buddy since at the uni. And when Miss Win settle down and moved to States with her husband, Gerik looks a bit dull. Yea.. penyeri dah takde. Plus, Miss Bai alone. So, there's nothing much left. Luckily we grad after that. If not, Gerik will not always be fun like in the first 2 years.

And dearest Gerik friends, no offense ye if am mentioned only Miss Bai, Miss Win, and Sir Amin. It just that, their names pop up in my mind since last few months. Clearly, am missing Gerik.

As the 9th Generation of Gerik, am really proud to be one of them.
As the first batch who be the number one in PMR result in Malaysia amongs other college.
And am proud to be one of the batch, who make Gerik number #15 in Malaysia amongs other schools.
And did I say that, Gerik, at that time, our batch, the 9th Generation, is the only one college list in that list?
How cool is that?
Hehehe

Riak pulak dahhhh
Naa.. It's just one of my sweetest memories.
Am really missing my friends and teachers.

After we left Gerik,
it's not just the same anymore.
Beloved teachers moved to other colleges
Lots of new building

Yeah..
Gerik tu hulu
Selalu takde air
Ada gajah
Tempat komunis
Jin bertendang
Agama sket <-- pakai tudung pin sampai bawah and stoking tuuu, anak tudung wajib. Surau wajib

But, we get the best of the both worlds.
That's why we had Egg-citing moments learning in Duniawi and Akhirat.. = D

p/s correction for the SEEDS! Thanx kembaq! Btw, I have some posts related to Gerik, Jasin, and Tengku Mahmud. Will be up soon! Sabaq!
